Great employee onboarding can improve employee retention by 82%, and yet 88% of organizations were found to lack effective onboarding.  Bringing a new hire into your company is a critical phase that needs to be done correctly. The statistics on first impressions, turnover rates (and associated costs), loss of talent and stressors for all involved are sobering. It's never "just" about their first day, or even first week! How a hiring manager helps their new talent and existing team navigate the first few months on the job can be a "make or break" experience.

Participants will:

  • Understand the value and importance of onboarding new hires as a means to boost engagement, productivity and morale
  • Recognize the difference between a new hire orientation, and a new hire onboarding process
  • Assess how to incorporate onboarding practices into their new hire experience, as soon as a candidate has agreed to take the job
Do and Show: Important tasks or skills you will be able to perform and demonstrate to others.

Participants will:

  • Use best practices for rolling out the red carpet and making a warm welcome to their team and organization
  • Develop strategies for helping existing team members engage in the onboarding process while reducing down-time and potential headaches
  • Learn how to speed up and improve productivity of new talent by creating and following solid onboarding protocols

Good Onboarding Training Fri, May 5, 2023
There were some good take aways and the instructor was a solid SME. Ideas on keeping the candidate stitched in/excited leading up to day one, as well as taking a look at processes/stakeholder responsibilities (and ways to approach stakeholder process improvement/etc).
